There won’t be a new issue landing in your inbox this Wednesday. The next issue of This Side of Japan will be postponed, currently scheduled for a publishing date of April 19. Apologies!

Workload for this newsletter has been catching up with me. I’ve been barely getting by for the last couple of issues, stressing out from having only 50% completion with no album review done and only a few days left before I got to schedule it to go live. That’s what happened with this upcoming issue as well, and though I do have about half of it done, I just don’t think it’s worthwhile for me and you to end up with rushed writing.

I was already planning to take a month-long break after completing the issue that was supposed to be up this Wednesday, so it’s basically an early vacation. I was going to be offline for a week during the end of March—visiting my family in Japan in fact!—so I won’t have proper time to put together things until April, hence April 19. I also don’t want to be down to the wire with writing like a few days before I go on my trip. I still have things to take care of as is!

Monthly Listening for March will be up at the end of the month as regularly scheduled. Hopefully, the albums and songs compiled for that list will make up for what’s lost in March. Idol Watch will also be out according to normal schedule, right now planned for end of April. I already have a feature in the works that will hopefully be out on the next issue when I return, so This Side of Japan should be up and ready to go as usual once I get back from break.
